Implants vs. Autologous Breast Reconstruction

One way to reconstruct the breast is by using a patient’s existing breast tissue to construct new breast mounds. Another method of reconstruction involves the use of either silicone or saline implants in the reconstructed breast. Sometimes, in Lansing plastic surgery, both implants and existing tissue are used. Though silicone implants tend to look and feel more like real breasts, a number of patients do prefer implants that are filled with sterile saline solution. Together, you and Dr. Colony will go over the specifics of each type of implant so you can make an informed decision.
